Location Recces

These pictures are of building offices that we have considered using within our music video. We had planned to have our protagonist go up to the building, and the camera will pan up as he looks at the full height of it. It'll then cut to behind the character so we can see more the the builing and out protagonist standing in front of it. We wanted to use office buildings so that it would match with the scenes within the school where we film some of the characters lifelessly working in their offices. The Images are of buildings in Elephant and Castle and Aldgate. We are still deciding which building we will use. We plan to do practise shots of how we expect the scene to be like so that we can choose the perfect builidng for the scene.

The images above are of the artwork that we have seen when visiting Brick Lane to take location recces. We thought that this art work would add a more interesting vibe to our work, as the scenery also appeals to our target audience, who are mainly urban, trendy youths, which are the type of people you would expect to see in a place like brick lane. We haven't yet decided if we will use all of these areas, however we do want to use this one...

We decided that the above loaction would be perfect as it is quite tucked away, and people are never really in that area, meaning it'll be private for us to shoot in. It also has the most art work on the wall in one place, giving it that urban feel once again, there is also a wall, and some obsticles that we can get our protagonist to free run, and jump over.

Originally, For our locations we were looking at the school site and other constructions sites. This is because it is a big spacious area for our artist to do a lot of free running, plus there are lots of obstacles for him to jump and flip over such as benches and poles. Also as a finalie we was thinking to do a massive dance in the top pitch with lots of people just flooding the pitch and doing a dance like the harlem shake.

We also looked at other sites we could use, we asked a photography student who is at uni and he suggested a contruction site to use during the night, this was very interesting becuase looking at some of the pictures he showed us there are a lot of good shots and views of London, we considered this as our site becuase it looked very artistic and this is defintly something we want to go for.

At the construction site there are a lot of high top angles, we could take advantage of the high angles at this site, it will be extremely useful when Krishan is running around doing the free running. At the school site, there isnt really any high angles however there is a lot of space for us to work in, plus most of our time will be spent in the school and there will be a lot of actors within the school to take part in our video. Plus in the school is where we are going to use the office workers and show Krishan freeing them.

At this location there are a lot of high angle shots that we could take of London, which will look really modern, plus with the use of the Go Pro we could use third person shots (example Miniboss 3rd person action) or Krishan running, especially on rooftops, but if we did choose to shoot at this location we would have to tweak the idea of the music video, because we will not be able to use office workers. However we can implement both of the locations into our music video, we could do this by Krishan freeing the office workers and throughout the music video they follow him to construction site and begin to dance their.

However we decided against using a construction site, as we thought it would be too hard for us to do the filming, also most of the construction sites wouldn't allow us to legally film and have our actor free running around it. So we thought it better to settle on somewhere interesting and urban like Brick Lane. We still however have decided to use the school, however when we shoot scenes there, we are going to try to make it look as little as a school as possible.
